Requirements for Re-Entering the USA From Mexico.
Beginning January 31, 2008
U.S. Citizens ages 19 and over will need to present a government-issued
photo ID Such as a Driver’s License and Proof Citizenship such as a
Birth Certificate to re-enter The United States from Mexico.
You
Will Not need a PASSPORT until the Summer of 2008 or later.
(see below *)
As an alternative to a Passport,
starting February 1, 2008 U.S. Citizens may apply for a wallet-sized
“Passport Card’ at select U.S. Post Office’s for a reduced
fee of only $45 for adults and $35 for children.
*Ample notice of the exact date of Passport Implementation
will be provided to ensure Travelers can obtain the appropriate documents
before traveling to Mexico.
